Busy bees use a great deal of energy. If a bee has been unable to find food for more than about 40 minutes, it can become exhausted and may die. A little sugar syrup can help it recover and fly away.
Before helping, look carefully: a bee may simply be resting. If it is moving slowly or unable to fly, offer one small drop of syrup. Sadly, a bee that is completely still may already have died.

The solid anodised aluminium tube has an O-ring seal, making it safe to carry in a pocket, handbag or on a keyring.

Simple sugar syrup
Mix half a teaspoon of granulated sugar with half a teaspoon of hot water and stir for about 90 seconds. Allow it to cool before filling the tube. Sugar water is not supplied with the kit.
